Many recognised sharing economy platforms provide some form of cover or guarantee for hosts renting their property to guests.
For example, Airbnb offer a Host Guarantee as well as Host Protection Insurance and Experience Protection Insurance. To understand exactly what is and isn’t covered by any form of cover provided by Airbnb, Bookabach, TripAdvisor, or any other sharing economy platform, refer closely to their specific policies.
Importantly, covers provided by sharing economy platforms do not necessarily protect you against all instances of property damage or loss incurred during a guest’s stay.
ShareCover isn’t the same as these covers or guarantees – or your standard home and contents insurance or landlord insurance – rather it offers flexible insurance that protects hosts from additional risks associated with having a guest in their property, when using a recognised platform such as Airbnb, Bookabach, or TripAdvisor. Each ShareCover policy fulfils different needs and, in some cases, may provide all the cover you require.
